Get started
Two things before your first sale — your keys and your platform.
Adding SellAbroad to your store takes two things: your credentials, and the guide for the platform your store runs on.
1. Get your credentials
Your SellAbroad account is provisioned by our team. When it is ready, your account manager gives you:
- Merchant ID — identifies your store on every request, webhook, and dashboard view. It is not secret; the storefront snippets and widgets use it in the browser by design.
- API key — authenticates your server's calls to our API, sent in the
x-api-keyheader. Required for custom-API integrations and the WooCommerce plugin. Unlike the Merchant ID, it is a secret.
Don't have these yet? Contact your SellAbroad account manager to request access.
2. Keep your API key server-side
Send your API key only from your server — never in browser JavaScript, a mobile app, or a public repository. Anyone holding it can create carts and charges against your account. If a key is ever exposed, contact SellAbroad to rotate it.
3. Pick your platform
Each guide is self-contained. Follow the one for your store:
